Women Who Lift Each Other Up

It’s no secret that women are hard on each other. Some are downright mean to each other. The feminist ideal of sisterhood is often just out of reach. Everyone wants it, but only the very lucky get it. Women criticize each other, and feel unsupported and judged by one another. A lot of times, deep-seated in female relationships, especially within a group of women, rests an ugly jealousy and hatred. And as all women can attest to, it isn’t left in the hallways of adolescence – it follows us always. We just learn to adapt.

I’ve come to learn that only women who feel good about themselves are comfortable with YOU feeling good about YOURself. The rest will spend a lot of time feeling bitter and resentful, and surround themselves with like-minded women who indulge each other in their insecurities.

On the other hand, some women walk into our lives to lift us up. These are the women who encourage you; who are honest with you, who make you laugh and who share in your success. These women inspire you to be a better you; and are kind and forgiving.

If you are that type of woman, you’ll attract those type of women. Simple as that.

Today, I am grateful to all the women in my life who have lifted me up. I am forever thankful for the ones that have come into my life at different times to teach me, and guide me; to laugh with me and hold me up. That includes all of you who very simply are always there with words of kindness and encouragement here online

People either contribute to, or contaminate your life. It’s up to you to know the difference.

How do you avoid the contaminators?
